adidas TERREX Kendal Mountain Festival 10K Trail Run
Ourea Events are delighted to announce that they will be the new race organisers for the hugely popular Kendal Mountain Festival 10K Trail Run.
As part of this dream partnership between adidas TERREX, Kendal Mountain Festival and Ourea Events, the event will be run on a not-for-profit basis to support the crucial voluntary work of Kendal Mountain Rescue Team.
The Festival 10K Trail Run is a rip-roaring trail run visiting the landmarks used by the local running community along Scout Scar. The route is pure trail running, strewn with natural obstacles, great ascents, jaw-dropping vistas, some hard-packed and grassy trails and a hugely atmospheric town centre start and finish on closed roads. It is a well-established sell-out race, attracting nearly 1,000 trail runners each year.
The adidas TERREX Kendal Mountain Festival 10k Trail run takes place on Saturday 19th November starting at 11am.
Race Director, Shane Ohly from Ourea Events, is also a member of Kendal Mountain Rescue Team and he commented,
“It is a privilege to be a member of Kendal MRT, and I am delighted that I am able to use the expertise of Ourea Events to organise the trail run, whilst also raising valuable funds for the team.” He continued, “It is such a logical connection for our Kendal-based businesses, Ourea Events and the Kendal Mountain Festival, to work together to support the outstanding work of Kendal MRT. It is a win-win for everyone involved.”
The adidas TERREX Kendal Mountain Festival 10K Trail Run is an integral and very popular element of the Kendal Mountain Festival. The Kendal Mountain Festival is the UK’s premier festival of adventure sport films, speakers, and literature. There will be live, in-person presentations, which will also be available online via the Festival digital player.
Steve Scott, Director of Kendal Mountain Festival, said,
“This new collaboration between Kendal Mountain Festival, Ourea Events and adidas TERREX is fantastic news, especially as we’re now raising funds for the local MRT who of course do invaluable work helping people across our National Park. All participants in the 10K can now run with the added incentive that they’re also supporting such a vital resource in place for all of us who enjoy the outdoors.”
Lucy Speakman, Director Outdoor UK, adidas adds,
“I am truly excited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Adidas TERREX sponsoring the 10km Trail Race at Kendal Mountain Festival. This will be my 7th year supporting the event in one way or another; it’s a highlight in my year, both personally and professionally.”
