Shane Ohly

Shane has a background working as a freelance event planner, race and/or event director at some of the largest adventure sport events.
As the Race Director at Ourea Events, Shane is responsible for the health and safety of the participants, event team and members of the public.
He is an elite mountain runner and orienteer who won the coveted OMM Elite in 2011, 2016 and 2017.

Neil Davies
Finance Manager

Holding the CIMA qualification and bringing experience of working within the outdoor industry, Neil is responsible for all aspects of finance within the organisation, from payroll to carbon accounting.
He is an active trail runner and climber having participated in the inaugural Salomon Glen Coe Skyline® event in 2015 and completed a Bob Graham Round in 2019.

Charlie Williamson
Customer & Event Team Manager

Having worked in the events industry for a number of years - on runs, treks and cycles, Charlie brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the team. As our Customer Services Manager she is the main point of contact for all our amazing participants as well as the event team.
A passionate trail runner, cyclist and skier, occasionally found up a climbing wall or in the CrossFit gym.

Duncan Archer
Business Manager

Duncan has previously worked for 25 years in the software tech industry, alongside organising and planning numerous orienteering events of all sizes in his spare time.
At Ourea Events he is responsible for the many systems and processes that underpin the business, commercial relationships, strategic planning and other business wide projects.
When not working, Duncan loves to be out and about - orienteering, fell running, rock climbing and cycling. Past successes include three OMM Elite wins (with Shane!), a Bob Graham Round, and some British Orienteering Champs medals.

Jen Edson
Warehouse & Logistics Manager
2022
Jen is responsible for looking after all of our kit and managing our warehouse.
She is a keen Canicrosser with her Border Collies, and has competed in both human and dog triathlons as well as many trail races. She loves being outdoors and doing various activities including SUPing, walking, running, and swimming. Basically, anything she can do with the dogs.

Greg Mickelborough
Event Operations Director

Greg's first experience of Ourea Events was competing in the inaugural Cape Wrath Ultra® in 2016, albeit unsuccessfully. With over a decade touring theatre, aerial and dance productions all over the world, production managing music festivals and arts centres, and competing and volunteering at several of Ourea's events, he brings a diverse range of skills and experience to the team.
Having recently moved up from Sussex to escape the rat race, Greg enjoys walking the fells and SUP boarding the waters with his wife Alice and two dogs, Foss and Tarna.

Lorna McBride
Event Operations Manager

Lorna assists with operations, helping to ensure events run smoothly behind the scenes. She also supports the customer services team, helping coordinate with our amazing event volunteers.
In her free time, Lorna loves getting out in the mountains. She enjoys hillwalking, scrambling, climbing and cycling, and is always keen to give new outdoor activities a go. When she fancies a change of scenery, she can occasionally also be spotted rowing on Windermere.

Libbi McGibbon
Marketing Manager

With a strong background in marketing and communications, Libbi brings over a decade of experience to the team, combining her professional expertise with her love for the hills. An accomplished trail and mountain runner herself, Libbi has completed and podiumed at many ultra distance events across the UK (including Ourea’s Lakes Traverse!) and holds several fastest-known-time records. Libbi’s personal experience and deep understanding of the sport inform her approach to marketing, ensuring Ourea's events resonate authentically with participants and partners.
When she’s not managing event campaigns, run coaching or volunteering within the outdoor community, you will usually find Libbi running around the Lake District fells with her Border Terrier, Arthur, or refuelling with good food and coffee somewhere with a nice view!

Charlotte Eccles
Marketing Coordinator
2023
Charlotte joins the Ourea Events Team as the Digital Marketing Coordinator and is in charge of all things Social Media.
Having moved to the beautiful Lake District 4 years ago from Lancashire, Charlotte spends all of her free time out in the fells either walking, running or cycling! She is often found swimming in the lakes and tarns - all year round, getting her cold water fix!
